Communication Skills (16)

-If conflict occurs among staff/follower,you as a leader/supervisor must use your communication skills in a way that is most appropriate for the situation.

-It's important that any conflicts be resolved quickly and with a little leftover bad feelings a possible.

-Keep in mind the first choice for resolving conflict is always to create a 'WIN-WIN' scenario.

-Conflicts among staff usually follows a series of stages

-It's up to you as a supervisor/leader to be alert for the symptoms and use your communication skills to handle the problem before it affect the entire organisation.

-In most cases,conflicts escalate in the following steps:

~1~ One person want something,and another person disagrees or obstruct progress.

~2~ Both parties feel frustrated because they can't do or get what they want

~3~ They manifest their frustration by blaming each other

~4~ They feel angry and do or say things based on how they've come to interpret what happened

~5~ Both parties react,and the conflicts escalates.

-So,if you recognize conflict,you can take steps to manage it as soon as possible.

-These steps depend upon the severity of the conflict and the urgency with which you must resolve it.
