Communication Skills (11)

-To be a good leader,you have to learn to make your meeting effective

-How your meeting more effective?

-Meeting usually fail/ not effective because of two reasons:-

   (1)The leader doesn't have a clear agenda
  
   (2)Other people in the meeting have their own agenda

-The secret to a good/effective meeting is the pre-meeting or the meeting before the meeting.

-The meeting before the meeting means----give influences the right perspective before the meeting because you need to figure out who the key people in the meeting and have meeting with them (individual or in small group) beforehand to make sure everybody have same idea and more positive to any changes.You must spend time with the most influential person in your meeting to discuss any ideas,open discussion when you plan to make major changes/worked to overcome great challenges/big project/launch a big idea/a dramatic changes or major decision.

-Set up meeting using the following structured:

  (1) Information items...during the first part of the agenda,spend a few minutes communicating what was happened in the organisation since the last meeting.These items didn't require discussion/comments.

  (2) Study items...this second part of the agenda would contain issues were to be discussed openly and honestly.

  (3) Action items..this final section contained items that required decision...moved to action section only after they have been thoroughly processed.

-Remember .... (1) without a set structure  for meeting,your meeting often spin out of control.
                        (2) meeting are indispensable when you don't want to do anything
                        (3) meeting is no substitute for progress
