About Behaviour.......

1.Behaviour may be:

> an overt purposive act;

> an attitudinal shift;

> a change in the perceived value of an object or of an activity; or

> a new relationship between two or more events


2.Behaviour would then be a cognitive reorganisation of the individual's environment,a restructuring of the person that then serves as the basis form which he responds.

3.A change in cognitive structure involves the development of perceptual knowledge,while change in motivation is centered on the dynamic aspects of the situation as well as from changes in the cognitive structure.

4.Behaviour is seen as a function of a person and his psychological environment.

5.Behavioural change will involve the following:

* cognitive field theory......where learning is the development of a new insights or cognitive structure or changes to old ones.

* learning.........is the development f insights into the nature of the person's world,that is,to understand themselves and their environmenet.Learning involves gaining or changing insights,outlook,exoectatins and thought patterns.

* Insights.........isunderstanding,meaning that goes beyond just consciousness or awareness -- it involves getting feel.Grasping the idea of,catching on to,or seeing through a situation.

* focus on learning........is on the seeing (not the doing) ; catching the point or getting idea.

* perceptions.............is not mere consciousness.It involves the interpretation of "everything in terms of the situation as a whole."
