SUCCESS (part 1)

1.Success is a progressive realisation of a worthy goal.

2.Team success therefore involves:

>Establishing a measurable team goal with a specific time frame and proressively achieving it according to a predetermined strategy.

3.Reasons why most people do not achieve success:

(1)Lack of 'know-how'

Our education system does not teach the art of making success. It is up to you to gain the necessary knowledge.
Gaining the knowledge is not easy:its take time, discipline and effort
If you want to succeed in any pursuit, you must gain knowledge.
Learn by talking with those who have been successful, gain from their experience.Read books, attend seminars and listen to tapes on education and motivation.Work had....do more of what you are doing right now.Actively pursue knowledge.

(2)Failure to set plans

Without a plan it is too easy to drift aimlessly, being tempted by the many lures that to separate you from your goal.
If you set a goals youwill know what you want to achieve and you will have a good reason to say NO to many sweet attemptions that will be laid before you.
People fail to succeed because they never PLAN to succeed. It is not that they plan to fail, they fail to plan.

(3)Inefficient use of time and poor work habits

Everyone has the same amount of time,it's just that some use their time more efficiently.A good time manager will create time by being efficient.

(4)Lack of foresight

Having foresight is having the ability to predict the eventual outcome of a certain series of events well before that outcome is obvious.Achievers have an ability to look beyond the immediate and into the future.Although some may see your vision as dreams,do not forget that you have to hava a dream to make a dream come true.

(5)The need to conform

If you likethe majority, you will become part of the majority.Being part of a crowd may be comforting.Dare to be different and you will be prepared to take the opportunities that surround you.It is the creative minority that seize the opportunities, and it is they who will eventually win through.
Remember all great causes start a minority, and great achievements are done by those prepared to challenge convention.
Accept that if you are to achieve a worthwhile goal you will need to be one of the five per cent who dare to be different, not one of the 95% who seek comfort in the conforming majority.

(6)Lack of desire

Desire is to achievement what yeast is to baking.Desire motivates action.A strong desire will give the person confidence and they begin looking at every situation as an opportunity to achieve their goal.Anyone who is content with mediocrity will always be mediocre.

(7)Lack of discipline

Those who lack the discipline will find success an impossible achievement.

(8)Lack of action

To achieve anything requires action.

4.Do you have what it takes to success?

Only when you can answer yes to all of the following questions then you will be on a growth path to succeed.

> Do you have a desire to learn?

> Do you have a positive attitude?

> Are you willing to make an effort?

> Do you have written goals and the desire to achieve them?

> Do you seek advice but do not blindly follow?

> Are you always looking for an opportunity to success?

5.Steps to success

(1) Establish a measurable goals

(2) Place a specipic time frame on the achievement of that goal

(3) Develop a strategy on how the goal is going to be achieved within the time frame

(4) Progress in a steady manner towards the achievement of that goal
