Islam is an Arabic word which literally signifies 'resignation' to the will of Allah.
The word of Islam means peace,purity,acceptance and commitment.
Islam is a comprehensive name commonly applied to the religion of the followers of the Prphet Muhammad (blessing and peace be upon on him),the last of the Apostles by Allah.
Islam is a religion of knowledge and light,not of ignorance and darkness.
Islam embodies the various sections of the law which Allah has established through the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for the guidance and well-being of the mankind.
The religion of Islam is,therefore,the total and complete acceptance of the teachings and guidance of Allah.
The Islamic law proceeds in its determination upon two grounds; the text of the Holy Quran and the Hadith or Sunnah,the Traditions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
